Max George has teased a potential reunion of his band The Wanted a year after Tom Parker's death during an interview on Lorraine.The singer was on the show to talk about his appearance on Celebrity Masterchef, but host Christine Lampard had to find out of Max had any plans for new music.The Wanted went on tour in 2022 when they reunited as bandmate Tom Parker was battling an incurable brain tumour. Sadly just days after that tour reached its conclusion in Liverpool, Tom died aged just 33. Following his death, the band cancelled shows that they were due to play in the summer.They released a special version of their emotional hit Gold Forever in memory of Tom, but that is the last release from them.
However, a year later, it appears that the band made up of Max, Siva Kaneswaran, Nathan Sykes and Jay McGuiness could be about to return. Max, 34, bumped into Siva, also 34, in the corridors of the ITV studios and the pair spoke about new music for the band. The Masterchef star said: "I bumped into Siva in the hallway back here, I didn't know he was here.
He was like are we going to have a go at any point back with The Wanted, are you thinking about it? "I was like, mate I've been thinking about it for the last 10 years. I have been doing nothing but. Hopefully, maybe next year." Christine joked as she asked can ITV Daytime take the credit for the reunion of the hit band.
Max replied to her, saying: "Two of the others would probably have a go at me, so no. But Siva seems pretty up for it." Before speaking about the band, Max did confess that he has been writing new music, and he has been back in the studio. Since Tom's death, all four members of the band have been keeping Tom's memory alive in one way or another.
