Daniel D'Addario Chief TV Critic The documentarian Roger Ross Williams usually establishes trust by getting a meal with his subjects before shooting. In the case of “The Super Models,” he and co-director Larissa Bills were meeting four legends. Cindy Crawford hosted the pair at her Malibu home; Christy Turlington took them to a bookstore in Manhattan; Naomi Campbell Zoomed them from her closet.
(“She was very apologetic,” says Bills, but “her closet was as big as my apartment.”) In early 2020, Crawford, Turlington, Campbell and Linda Evangelista came to Imagine Entertainment with the notion of executive producing a documentary about their reign over fashion in the 1980s and ’90s. Williams, an Oscar winner for 2009’s “Music by Prudence,” and Bills were brought in to tell their collective story of living as icons — and finding themselves as women. And that’s how Williams ended up telling Evangelista about the House of Evangelista.
On FX’s “Pose,” a group of drag ballroom performers borrow her name, and her hauteur. “I made this whole speech,” says Williams. “‘You’re iconic to these Black gay men.
Your power defines them.’” Evangelista, known in her moment as a fashion chameleon, exerted a special pull — but seemed to need a touch of “Pose’s” high-stepping spirit. Having come forward in 2022 with claims that she had been disfigured during a cosmetic procedure, and having also survived both cancer and spousal abuse, Evangelista has lived a lot of life. On-screen, she’s more open than ever, her famous face expressing not a designer’s vision but her inner turmoil.

Daedalic Entertainment‘s apology for the state of The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum on its launch was allegedly the product of an AI prompt. In May, the stealth adventure game launched with an array of technical issues that irritated reviewers and made it a subject of ridicule on social media. As a result, Daedalic Entertainment chose to cancel another Lord of the Rings game that was in development and close the German studio that worked on The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum. A few words from the " The Lord of the Rings: Gollum™ " team pic.twitter.com/adPamy5EjO— The Lord of the Rings: Gollum (@GollumGame) May 26, 2023It also offered an apology for the “underwhelming” quality of the game, adding that The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum “did not meet the expectations we set for ourselves or for our dedicated community”.Yet, in a report from German gaming outlet GameTwo, anonymous ex Daedalic Entertainment staff stated that the apology was apparently AI generated.Specifically, it was claimed that ChatGPT was used by publisher Nacon to produce an apology to give to players.Consequently, Daedalic Entertainment supposedly did not know anything about an apology before it was sent out on social media. While neither Daedalic Entertainment or Nacon have acknowledged what has been said in GameTwo‘s report, fans instantly identified an error in the apology when it was released. In it, the game is referred to “The Lord Of The Ring: Gollum” rather than “The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum“.GameTwo also spoke to technical director and senior developer Paul Schulze who alleged that the game’s budget was too modest at about £13million (€15million).“There were people working on the game that have been developers for 10, 15, 20 years, and they’re good, but they
Caroline Brew editor Stephen King’s 1983 novel “Pet Sematary” has been adapted several times for film, beginning with Mary Lambert’s 1989 version. That was followed by its 1992 sequel, then by Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kölsch’s 2019 adaptation — and now, there’s “Pet Sematary: Bloodlines,” directed and co-written by Lindsey Anderson Beer. What sets Beer’s version apart from the others is that hers is a prequel, with the intention to answer some of the unknowns about the “Pet Sematary” universe, rather than just tell a different version of the same story.
