Wolf Alice announce ‘Blue Weekend’ lullaby EP and share new take on ‘The Last Man On Earth’

Wolf Alice have announced plans to release a new EP featuring lullaby versions of select songs from their ‘Blue Weekend’ album.Titled ‘Blue Lullaby’, the release will feature four reworked tracks from their 2021 album including new versions of ‘No Hard Feelings’, ‘Lipstick On The Glass’, ‘How Can I Make It OK?’ and ‘The Last Man On Earth’, the latter of which you hear below now.“’Blue Lullaby’ came about because we wanted to strip down some of our more emotional songs from ‘Blue Weekend’ and see if they hit any different,” said frontwoman Ellie Rowsell.“We also had a really nice moment during the ‘Blue Weekend’ campaign singing one of our songs with a choir and we wanted to experience that again with a few other songs, especially as there are a lot of harmonies and a lot of vocal layering on ‘Blue Weekend’.“Hearing multiple voices singing together is an unparalleled feeling to me so I’m happy we got to record this experience and I hope people enjoy it.”‘Blue Lullaby’ will be released on June 24 via Dirty Hit. The explosive true story behind new Amazon show ‘A Very British Scandal’

A Very British Scandal” premieres Friday on Amazon Prime, it will be the first time that most Americans learn all about Margaret, the Duchess of Argyll; her husband Ian Campbell, the Duke of Argyll — and the ill-fated string of pearls that proved to be her downfall during their bitter and lascivious divorce battle. The duchess was the Kim Kardashian of her day, a socialite photographed every time she stepped out on the town and famed for a string of affairs. But it all came crashing down when Campbell used photos he had stolen of his wife “in flagrante” with another man to shame her in court during their 1962 divorce. It worked, with Judge Lord Wheatley blasting her as “a completely promiscuous woman” whose attitude towards marriage was “wholly immoral.”The judge, a highly conservative Jesuit and a relative of Campbell, added: “I consider her to be a highly sexed woman who had ceased to be satisfied with normal relations and had started to indulge in disgusting sexual activities to gratify a debase sexual appetite.”As The New York Times reported at the time, the photos “reportedly showed a naked man gratifying himself and pictured [the duchess], dressed in nothing but three strands of pearls, performing a sex act on a naked man in the mirrored gilt and silver bathroom of her Mayfair apartment.”“Margaret really invented the tabloid scandal, which now is such a huge industry,” show writer Sarah Phelps told The Post.

Michael Head And The Red Elastic Band share new single ‘Broken Beauty’

Shack‘s Michael Head has shared his new single with The Red Elastic Band, ‘Broken Beauty’ – you can view the video for it below. The track is lifted from their new album ‘Dear Scott’, which is due for release on May 27, via Modern Sky UK.The follow-up to 2017’s ‘Adiós Señor Pussycat’ has been produced by Bill Ryder-Jones.The title refers to a postcard F. Scott Fitzgerald, addressed to himself upon checking in at Hollywood’s infamous Golden Age retreat, The Garden Of Allah Hotel.“I’m fascinated with the early Hollywood studio system and the more I got to find out about the hotel, the more I realised how much the lyrical content was intertwined with it,” Head recently told Uncut.“Stravinsky was there, arguing with Harpo Marx – if you’re a writer that’s gold! F Scott Fitzgerald stayed there when he was sober, but I think he struggled as it was a den of debauchery.”He is also due to hit the road for a UK tour with The Red Elastic Band later this summer, kicking off at Leeds Brudenell Social Club on June 1 before wrapping on June 11 at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire.
