If you want to experience the beauty of Scotland, you might not think a bus journey is the way to do it.
However, some bus routes will take you through some of the most picturesque and iconic sights that Scotland has to offer. One of these is the 915/916 Scottish Citylink.
The bus departs from Buchanan Street Station in Glasgow and travels across the country all the way up to Portree on the Isle of Skye. In total, the journey can take anywhere from six hours and 15 minutes to seven hours and 15 minutes.
The incredible route across the west coast and into the Highlands passes by some must-see Scottish destinations. These include Loch Lomond, Glen Coe, Ben Nevis, Eilean Donan Castle, and the craggy landscapes of Skye.
Other stops along the route include the picturesque villages of Balloch, Luss, and Onich. It is important to note that not all buses will travel all the way to Portree in Skye, so you should check the timetable beforehand.
While you won't be able to get off the bus and explore these sights fully, it is nonetheless a great way to at least see them in person. It is also a far more cost-effective option than venturing out on numerous day trips to different parts of the country.
