Renters who move into Salford's newest skyscraper will have access to a new 'City Pass' - giving perks such as 'new season previews, shopper events and complimentary VIP services'. The new Cortland building, a 50-storey steel-and-glass tower in Greengate, will formally open next Thursday (November 16).
Some 559 apartments and penthouses are contained within the structure. It sits in Colliers Yard, which was the Mediaeval heart of the city, and is also home to the now-derelict Collier Street swimming baths.
Planning permission was granted in 2020 on the condition that developers will restore the baths, but it’s not yet known when this will take place.

Colliers Yard also remains unfinished, with a second tower — between 39 and 41 storeys holding 428 to 518 apartments — and a third between 40 to 42 storeys with 420 to 444 apartments also set to come. The area will also have a park once complete.
While those towers will have apartments for sale, the Cortland block only has flats to rent — and a one-bedroom property is listed for £1,390 per month, with two-beds at £1,729 per month, and a ‘luxe’ three-bedroom flat yours for £4,635 per month.
While the four-figure prices and unfinished nature of the surrounding area might put some off, those who do take the punt will be able to benefit from the brand-new ‘Cortland City Pass’.
