The Repair Shop's furniture restorer, Will Kirk, shared a touching moment from the filming of the BBC show that made him need to "walk away". Chatting on ITV's Lorraine last year, the expert revealed he had to step outside the barn to gather himself after hearing a heartbreaking story from a young lad. Speaking about the series, the host began: "It is wonderful.
I mean, it's one of those things if you put it out there and you look at it on a piece of paper you think, 'That's not going to work.' "But then when it comes to life, it just works. So do you have a favourite moment? Do you have something that will stick in your mind?" Will replied: "There's so many. When it comes to emotion, there was a young boy who came in with a table.
"And it was just a story about his relationship with his dad who passed away, and his gran was taking care of him. And it's the first time I actually had to walk away. I had to get outside the barn for about 20 minutes." Will went on: "All of the crew were crying, apart from the boy who was just so strong.
And it goes to show that if you relate to something, it means a lot to people." "Well, that's what's so good about it," Lorraine summed up before she continued to explain why the much-loved series remains so popular. "It's obvious that we love to watch something being transformed and everybody loves seeing something transformed to its original beauty. "And sometimes the objects aren't that beautiful but there is a beauty in there - but it's the stories.
