‘The Peripheral’ Renewed For Second Season By Prime Video

JD Linville Prime Video and Conspiração Filmes, one of Brazil’s biggest production houses, have dropped the trailer for Season 2 of their award-winning original Brazilian series “Dom,” which follows Pedro Dom, a notorious gangster and his father Victor’s efforts to save his son from himself.  The series, which debuted in 2021, is the creation of late director Breno Silveira (“Two Sons of Francisco”) who directed the second season prior to his death. Season 3, which has commenced filming, will be directed by Adrian Teijido (“Narcos,” “Sergio”) and Vellas (“Shout”), and will serve as a wild finale to a story of crime, violence and family.

The series joins a lineup of German originals that includes “We Children from Bahnhof Zoo,” “Deutschland 89” and “LOL: Last One Laughing.” Engelke, who is best known for her comedy roles but also appears in dramas, has recently been seen in “Kurzschluss,” “Der Onkel” and “Eingeschlossene Gesellschaft.” Among her shows that took German Television Awards were best comedy for “Ladykracher” (2002) and best entertainment show for “Wer stiehlt mir die Show” (2021).

A television series based on the critically acclaimed comic book series Wytches is headed to Prime Video. The streaming platform has ordered an animated series adaptation of Scott Snyder and Jock’s comic books, from Plan B Entertainment, Project 51 Productions, and Amazon Studios. Wytches will premiere on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
