Welsh actor Ewen MacIntosh, who starred in the UK's version of The Office, has died aged 50.
The comedian played 'Big Keith' Bishop, the oddball character who worked in the accounting section, in the Ricky Gervais show which aired from 2001 to 2003.
Talent management company JustRight Management posted a heartfelt message on X announcing his passing, saying: "With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved comedy genius Ewen MacIntosh. His family thank all who supported him, especially Willow Green Care Home.
There will be a private cremation for family & close friends soon & a celebratory memorial later in the year." The star previously shared his trips to hospital amid mysterious health issues. He posted on X - formerly known as Twitter - in February 2022 and shared a picture of himself in a hospital bed, hooked up to some machinery.
"Bad times for me I'm afraid chums. Stat strong out there," he wrote to his 17,500 followers, alongside a thumbs up emoji. Ewen did not give any further details on the health woes which saw him hospitalised.
Max Rushden, from talkSPORT, immediately replied: "Sending you all the best mate x," while fellow After Life actress Holli Dempsey shared: "Sending love and healing vibes to ya Ewen xx." Meanwhile fans of the star also flocked to the comments to share their well wishes as one person wrote: "Get well soon Ewan, don’t forget Ricky said that you’re a machine. Lots of love," with a red heart emoji. Another said: "Mate stay strong and wishing you a swift recovery pal!" as a third chimed: "Awh I hope you feel better soon.
