A 'despicable' rapist who drugged his victims will spend six more years behind bars after top judges ruled his prison sentence of 24 years 'was simply too low'.
Steven Evans, 33, was locked up in November last year after a jury found him guilty of 37 offences, the majority of them horrific rapes and sex assaults.
Evans - who used a substance he called 'magic' on his victims - was convicted of 10 counts of rape, six counts of assault by penetration and one sexual assault against one woman, committed in 2015-2016, and five counts of rape, three of assault by penetration, seven sexual assaults and two charges of administering a stupefying substance with intent against a second woman.

He was also convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting a third woman, and of drugging a fourth victim.
A judge at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court imposed a total sentence of 32 years. The sentence comprised 24 years in custody followed by eight years on licence.
The solicitor general, however, referred the case to the Court of Appeal, arguing the sentence was unduly lenient, the Manchester Evening News can reveal.
Court of Appeal judges Lord Justice Singh, Mr Justice Goose and Mrs Justice Foster heard the case on Tuesday - at which counsel for the Crown argued for a life sentence.

He filmed and took photos of many of his vile attacks, which detectives said left his victims with 'horrific' injuries.
