"It provided him with a support network through like-minded survivors, information and knowledge that may ordinarily be difficult to gather through the NHS."
Joe, who describes himself as a 'keen runner' will begin his challenge on Monday, February 26, and run 28.5 miles a day - ultimately leading to him running 200 miles over the week.
He will run seven different routes throughout Manchester, including through Salford, Altrincham and Stockport and do some of the runs before he starts work. Joe has set himself a fundraising target of £3500 for the charity.
"I'll be running the first three before going to work. So that will be quite interesting," Joe, who works as a project manager in Stockport, added.
