‘The Irishman’: Scorsese, De Niro, Pacino More On Their New Mob Epic

Netflix has added four more movie titles for Blu-ray and DVD releases this year via the Criterion Collection — Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story, Steven Bognar and Julia Reichert’s American Factory and Mati Diop’s Atlantics.Earlier, Netflix's Roma by Alfonso Cuarón became the first of the streaming giant's films to join the Criterion library of classic and contemporary films, and is set for a Feb.

In today’s film news roundup, four Netflix titles have been added to the Criterion Collection, Slamdance and ArcLight are partnering, Steven Grayhm is starring in and directing a paranormal drama, and The Mammoth Film Festival sets its lineup.

Martin Scorsese has finally roped in two of his favourite leading men to share the same screen space in his next film. Before presenting Robert De Niro with the Life Achievement Award at the 26th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, Leonardo DiCaprio confirmed that he will soon star alongside the legendary actor in Scorsese's upcoming movie, Killers of the Flower Moon. While the project had been rumoured earlier, this is the first time it has been officially announced by a reliable source.

The actors are ready to deliver their trophies for the best film and television performances of the year. The 26th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will, like the 2020 Oscars, take place without a host this year after being headed up Will & Grace star Megan Mullally in 2019. However, the event will still feature a bevy of talent taking the stage to help dole out those dramatic statues.

Streaming giant Netflix received strong support from filmmakers behind “The Irishman” and “Marriage Story” at the Producers Guild of America’s nominees panel on Saturday at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

Robert De Niro has an enviable career, boasting not just longevity but an impressive body of work. The New York native has appeared in some of the most iconic films of all time, including Goodfellas and the Godfather saga.

Magnolia Pictures has released a new trailer for Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band, a forthcoming documentary produced by Martin Scorsese. The film, which hits theaters February 21, is directed by Daniel Roher, and largely focuses on Robertson’s personal journey, including a glimpse into his life before the Band. Casting director Ellen Lewis first worked alongside Martin Scorsese on 1989’s “New York Stories.” Since then, Lewis has worked with Scorsese on casting his films including “Goodfellas,” “The Departed,” “The Wolf of Wall Street” and “The Irishman.”
