‘The Innocent’ Review: A Slippery Comic Heist from French Heartthrob Director Louis Garrel

Ahead of the release of “Fast X,” we now know who will be taking the director’s chair for the 11th and potentially final installment of the “Fast & Furious” franchise. Universal Pictures has brought back French action filmmaker Louis Leterrier to direct “Fast & Furious 11,” according to a report from Variety.

After stepping in for Justin Lin as the director for Universal‘s forthcoming Fast X, the penultimate installment in the long-running Fast & Furious action franchise which has grossed over $6B worldwide, Louis Leterrier will return to helm its final installment, Deadline can confirm.

The “Transporter” helmer will serve as director of the next film in the grand finale of the “Fast and Furious” franchise. The new project will serve as a companion film to “Fast X,” the 10th title in the Vin Diesel series which opens May 19. Leterrier replaced Justin Lin as director on “Fast X” last May, a breakneck substitution that clearly resulted in something meaningful for the team – which includes producer-star Diesel and legacy cast Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson and Charlize Theron.

But her competition slot is on hold for now after news broke about several alleged inappropriate incidents during filming. The night before the press conference on April 13, Cannes chief Thierry Fremaux confirmed to the director that she would have a competition slot, but shortly before the start of the announcement, the festival’s administration board decided to hold off on including the title as part of the lineup. The delay came after the board discovered that Corsini was allegedly being accused of harassment by crew members, while other members of the crew had been allegedly been accused of inappropriate acts against two female actors, according to French reports. Fremaux told Variety the “administration board wished to gather more information about the situation around the film before taking a decision on whether to include the film in its Official Selection.”

What do these shows have in common? They shot in French with local casts, and have the high budgets and production values that are typically allocated to international co-productions like “Marie Antoinette,” which shot in English and was produced with French and foreign TV partners. 

When the first handful of projects were announced for DC Studios, one of them was an animated series based on the DC Comics team “Creature Commandos.” The project would see the voice cast making the transition to live-action incarnations as well down the road. The new genre series was announced alongside a string of feature films such as James Gunn‘s “Superman: Legacy,” a new Batman project called “The Brave & The Bold,” “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,” and James Mangold‘s “Swamp Thing” remake as part of their “Chapter One: Gods & Monsters” lineup.

Frank Grillo, David Harbour, Maria Bakalova, Indira Varma, Zoe Chao, Alan Tudyk, Sean Gunn and Steve Agee have been set as the voice cast for DC’s new animated series Creature Commandos.

The irony was, I wasn’t in touch with any of my own sexuality.” “The Blue Lagoon” stars Shields opposite Christopher Atkins. The two actors play teens stranded on a tropical island who experience puberty together and fall in love. The film is one of many that Shields calls out in the documentary for exploiting her at such a young age. Other titles include Louis Malle’s “Pretty Baby” and Franco Zeffirelli’s “Endless Love.”

Lee, the 43-year-old founder of Cash App, was fatally stabbed at around 2:30 a.m.Tuesday in the Rincon Hill area of San Francisco. Authorities have not identified a suspect in the attack.

Todd Spangler NY Digital Editor Bob Lee, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, investor and executive who created Cash App, died Tuesday after he was fatally stabbed in San Francisco, according to reports. He was 43. Lee was formerly CTO of Jack Dorsey’s payments company Square (which is now called Block) and most recently was the chief product officer at cryptocurrency company MobileCoin, which he joined in late 2021. The San Francisco Police Department said in an announcement that it responded to a report of a stabbing near the 300 block of Main Street on April 4 at about 2:35 a.m. SFPD did not identify the victim. NBC Bay Area and other outlets subsequently reported that the victim of the stabbing was Lee.

Cash App founder Bob Lee has been killed.

J. Kim Murphy Stefan Grygelko, a pillar of the San Francisco drag community who performed under the persona Heklina, was found dead Monday in London. Heklina was 54. Heklina was discovered by Peaches Christ (fellow drag performer Joshua Grannell) on Monday morning. The pair had been touring with their stage production “Mommie Queerest,” a parody of the 1981 cult feature “Mommie Dearest,” which was slated for a two-week run at the Soho Theatre. No official cause of death has been released. “I am shocked and horrified to bring this news to you. I am living in a real-life nightmare so forgive me if I don’t have all the answers just now. This morning, in London, England I went to collect my dear friend Heklina, who is costarring with me in a Mommie Queerest show here, and found her dead,” Peaches Christ wrote in a statement on social media. “Heklina is not just my best friend, but a beloved icon of our community. I am a mess.”
