Work to transform a historic warehouse behind Piccadilly Station into a series of ‘creative workspaces’ is getting underway in a matter of weeks.
The £7m plans for Neptune Mill in Piccadilly East – green lit by Manchester City Council earlier this year – have received funding support and construction will start next month, developers Capital&Centric have announced.
Workspaces within the Grade II listed mill are expected to be ready by late summer and early expressions of interest from businesses and café-bar operators wanting to take space in the development are now open.

In total 22,000 sq ft of work space will be available for businesses within the the 19th century building on Chapeltown Street. Work will include exposing the mill’s original features, such as stripping the building back to reveal its red brickwork and timber beams.
Capital&Centric will take one floor as their new HQ, with the ground floor set to house a café-bar with an outdoor landscaped courtyard.
Plans are getting underway after the project received a £3.8 million loan from the North West Evergreen Fund and the Greater Manchester Low Carbon Fund, managed by CBRE’s Lending team.
