A dealer who 'played a leading role' in a UK-wide network that supplied drugs to the north west has been jailed. Connor Sainsbury was arrested in June after an operation involving officers from Greater Manchester.
The 21-year-old, from Caerphilly, South Wales, was part of a 'part of a nationwide network of drug dealers' and 'played a leading role in the distribution and sale of ketamine and cannabis to dealers lower down the chain' which generated a 'substantial amount of money in the process' Gwent Police said.
Following his arrest in the summer he was charged and pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class B. He also admitted possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.

Sainsbury, from the village of Pontlotty in Caerphilly, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court last Thursday (December 7) where he was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. He will also have to appear at a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing at a later date where the courts will attempt to recoup his ill-gotten gains.
Following his sentencing, Gwent Police released his police mugshot in which he has wide smile on his face.
PC Rhys Jones, the officer in the case, said: “Sainsbury played a leading role in the distribution and sale of ketamine and cannabis to dealers lower down the chain.
“He was part of a nationwide network of drug dealers leading back to Liverpool, benefitting from the sale of drugs and making a substantial amount of money in the process.
