Opening in 1988, Atlantis was Bolton's largest nightclub with a capacity to hold over 2,500 clubbers. Boasting six bars, two dancefloors, a diner and a VIP lounge, the venue even saw Girls Aloud entertain crowds there in 2003.
It was reported that the club hit financial difficulties after failing to attract enough punters due to its out-of-town location, closing in 2004, before being demolished a year later.
