NEW YORK -- Carnegie Hall plans a return to a relatively full schedule next season for the first time since 2018-19, presenting about 150 events that include Kirill Petrenko’s first New York appearances as music director of the Berlin Philharmonic.Carnegie announced a 2022-23 schedule Tuesday that includes about 50 events in 2,800-seat Stern Auditorium. Petrenko, who succeeded Simon Rattle as Berlin's chief conductor for the 2019-20 season, leads three performances from Nov.

Sam Fender has announced details of an intimate charity show that he’ll play in Newcastle next month.The ‘Seventeen Going Under’ artist will return to his native north east on May 24 for a special gig at Newcastle’s O2 City Hall, marking the first time that he will have played live at the 2600-capacity venue.The show will raise money for North East Homeless, who provide support to those who are vulnerable and homeless in the north east of England, as well as food and emergency equipment at street outreach sessions.Fender, who is a patron of the charity, dedicated his BRIT Award for Alternative/Rock Act to the organisation back in February.This is going to be next level. Elton John has announced a special 50th anniversary reissue of his 1971 album ‘Madman Across The Water’.The singer/songwriter’s fourth studio album, which was recorded at Trident Studios in central London in February and August 1971, featured such songs as ‘Tiny Dancer’, ‘Levon’ and ‘Indian Summer’.‘Madman Across The Water’ will be reissued on June 10 via UMe to celebrate its recent 50th anniversary, and will be available as a 3xCD and 1xBlu-ray super deluxe box set, as well as in 4xLP, 1xLP limited edition coloured vinyl, and 2xCD formats. Richard Hawley has added a fourth and final date to his forthcoming run of gigs at the Sheffield Leadmill.The singer-songwriter unveiled details of two concerts earlier this week taking place on August 8 and 9 to help the venue after news that is under threat of closure. The venue then announced a third date due to “phenomenal demand” on August 11.Now, because of “overwhelming demand”, they’ve added a fourth and final show on August 12.
