‘The Bear’ Season 2 Trailer: Carmy’s Chaotic Kitchen Gets a Makeover and Hires New Staff

Jordan Moreau Yes, chef! Hulu’s “The Bear” has cooked up its first trailer for Season 2, coming to Hulu on June 22. “The Bear” was a surprise hit last year for Hulu, as fans fell in love with the chaotic, yet adored, chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, played by Jeremy Allen White. Season 1 ended with Carmy and his cooks finding hundreds of dollars of hidden money left over by his late brother Mikey, and they plan to reinvent The Beef eatery into the new and improved The Bear restaurant. Here’s the Season 2 logline: “Carmy, Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri) and Richard “Richie” Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) work to transform their grimy sandwich joint into a next-level spot. As they strip the restaurant down to its bones, the crew undertakes transformational journeys of their own, each forced to confront the past and reckon with who they want to be in the future. Of course, it turns out the only thing harder than running a restaurant is opening a new one, and the team must juggle the insane bureaucracy of permits and contractors with the beauty and creative agony of menu planning. The transition brings a newfound focus on hospitality as well. As the entire staff is forced to come together in new ways, pushing the boundaries of their abilities and relationships, they also learn what it means to be in service, both to diners and each other.”

Peak Stress TV: Some of This Year’s Top Emmy Contenders Are Also the Most Anxiety-Inducing

Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large All three series are some of the most nerve-racking shows on television. Peak TV, meet Stress TV. Hold on, I’m not going to dust off the tired “what’s comedy versus drama” debate. I feel like we lost that battle long ago when hourlong comedic dramas (or dramatic comedies) like “Ally McBeal” and “Desperate Housewives” won comedy Emmys. Shows like “Beef” and Peacock’s “Mrs. Davis” have avoided the debate entirely by instead entering the limited Emmy race. And that’s perhaps for the best — Although “Beef” would seemingly land otherwise in the comedy race and “Mrs. Davis” in the drama race… I think “Mrs. Davis” may be the most lighthearted of any of the shows I’ve mentioned so far (and not nearly as stressful, despite the fact that it’s about A.I., the thing that will probably put me out of a job in a few years._

‘Dancing With the Stars’ leaves Disney+ for next season, will return to ABC

Vulture reported on Tuesday. The return to its prized slot on the network comes just a year after it became the first live series hosted on Disney+.At the time, the move was justified by Disney’s desperation to expand their “demographic reach” as well as an upcoming Monday Night Football schedule that would trump the tenured dance competition. “The show’s broad appeal, as well as the overwhelming popularity of its Disney-themed competition nights, make Disney+ the perfect home for ‘Dancing With the Stars’ while continuing to expand our demographic reach,” Kareem Daniel, the former chairman of now-defunct Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution division, said at the time. The transition followed a major shakeup in the last few years, which included the exit of executive producer Andrew Llinares who oversaw the replacement of co-host Tom Bergeron with Tyra Banks for Season 29.Now, “DWTS” veteran Julianne Hough will replace the notorious supermodel as co-host alongside Alfonso Ribeiro for the upcoming season, which is slated to air this fall. The competition’s return to its coveted slot on ABC has not been officially announced by the network nor Disney, but Vulture reports that Disney+ subscribers will have the best of both worlds: the episodes will continue to be live-streamed via the platform, in addition to being available next-day on Hulu.Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough will return as judges in the upcoming season, but without their legendary fourth panelist Len Goodman.
