Tesco shoppers have slammed an 'clueless' driver for their 'joke' parking outside a store. The vehicle was snapped at the supermarket in Coventry, with some saying that the unnamed motorist 'could have caused an accident'.
Believing that they had found an empty space, the car owner had parked up before heading into the supermarket. However, they had failed to spot that the ‘vacant parking bay’ was actually over the curb of a zebra crossing, according to the Mirror.
Infuriated by the parking blunder, another customer took a photo the car and shared it to Facebook, branding the driver an 'idiot'. They wrote: "Just another idiot in Tesco this evening. The guy just missed the correct parking space.”
True to form, the post drew a steady stream of comments, with many fellow social media users also mad at the driver. One was typical of many when he said: "Yet another joke driver, they have absolutely no clue what is around them or with them."
A parent with a pushchair, who had to avoid the badly-parked car, waded in too: "Had to walk round with a pushchair. Glad there wasn't another car to the right."
Perhaps the driver should check his spectacle prescription said another: "And people wonder why accidents happen. Needs to go to Specsavers.”
However, there were some balanced and sympathetic comments, trying to see it from the driver’s perspective. Judging from the image, they said, it was an easy mistake to make because the road markings did make it look like a parking spot.
One even said he was tempted to park in what he thought was a legitimate parking spot: "Not going to lie I did see this space this afternoon and it does look like a parking space."
