Teenage sisters who saved a man and his child from drowning at a Scots beach have been honoured for their bravery.
Isla and Eilidh Noble were enjoying a day out with their parents in August 2019 when they heard a child screaming a man shouting for help while out in the water with a lilo at Fraserburgh Beach, Aberdeenshire.
Aberdeen Live reports the girls then spotted Peter Schechter and a child on his shoulders.
Initially the girls thought the dad was intentionally bobbing up and down but soon realised he was actually having difficulty keeping his head above the water.
The heroic sisters, who were just 15 and 16 at the time, leaped into action and swam over to Peter with their lilo, where Isla helped get his son off his shoulders and onto the floating device.
She then draped Peter's arms over the lilo to keep his head above the water.
Another a man who spotted the emergency saw what was happening at this time and helped get Peter and his child onto the beach.
Isla and Eilidh, from Fraserburgh, once more sprang into action when they realised Peter's hands and face had turned blue so covered him with a towel, while Isla called the coastguard and Eilidh and the other man placed him in the recovery position.
An off-duty nurse was able to offer her assistance by taking Peter’s pulse and passed this information to Isla who then shared it with the coastguard.
The sisters stayed with Peter until a coastguard crew arrived.
The Noble sister were presented Police Public Bravery Awards for their outstanding actions.
Inspector Jennifer Cordiner, of Fraserburgh Police Station, said: "Through Isla and Eilidh's act of bravery and quick thinking a man's life was saved.
"I am delighted that they have been given a Police Public Bravery Award and
