A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a suspicious package at a yard on Brownrigg Loaning in Dumfries around 11am on Wednesday, 5 January. “Officers are in attendance and a number of premises have been evacuated. Explosive Ordnance Disposal has been informed.”
A witness has said that the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) and Scottish Ambulance Service are also currently in attendance at the scene.
