Sundance Now Acquires Natalie Dormer Murder Mystery Series ‘White Lies’ For North America (EXCLUSIVE)

Alex Ritman “Small Things Like These,” the Irish drama starring newly-minted Oscar winner Cillian Murphy that opened the Berlinale earlier this year, finally has a domestic home, Variety has learned, with Lionsgate picking up the film for the U.S., the U.K. and Ireland. The studio will partner with Roadside Attractions for its North American theatrical release.

Directed by sister-brother team Rebecca Davis (Netflix’s Explained) and Pete Davis (author of Dedicated: The Case for Commitment in an Age of Infinite Browsing).

Selena Kuznikov Animation company GKids has acquired theatrical, video and digital transactional rights to anime series “Dan Da Dan.” With production from the acclaimed animation studio Science SARU (“Devilman Crybaby”, “Inu-Oh,” “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off,” “The Colors Within”), the series is the directorial debut of studio veteran Fuga Yamashiro. Composer kensuke ushio (“Chainsaw Man,” “Devilman Crybaby,” “The Colors Within”) additionally joins the production for the score.

Gkids has acquired theatrical, videogram and digital transactional rights to the new anime series Dan Da Dan. The acquisition serves as Gkids’ first engagement with a first-run series, following North American distribution of various famed retrospective series work. No release date is set.

HyunA has announced her upcoming 2024 ‘My Attitude’ tour in North America, featuring concerts in the US and Canada.Today (June 4), HyunA unveiled the dates and venues for her brand-new solo tour of North America, titled ‘My Attitude’. The tour currently features eight shows across the month of August, in both the US and Canada.The K-pop star will kick off her tour at The Factory in Deep Ellum in Dallas, Texas on August 7, with a second show in Houston the day after.

Epik High have announced their upcoming 2024 ‘The Pump’ North America tour, featuring concerts in Canada and the US.Epik High will return to North America later this year for a massive 23-date tour of the region, which will feature two Canadian concerts and 21 performances in the US across August and September 2024.The K-hip-hop trio will kick things off at the Orpheum in Vancouver on August 22. The same month, the group will also play shows in the US states of Washington, Oregon and Neveda, as well as three concerts across California.In September, Epik High will bring their tour to Central US states and the East Coast.

Justice have announced new dates for their forthcoming North American tour – check out the full list of dates and ticket info below.The French electronic duo – who will hit the road in support of their fourth album ‘Hyperdrama’, released in April – have added new dates in October for their sojourn through the US and Canada.This follows initial dates previously announced for New York, Washington DC and Boston, all of which have since sold out. Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Metrograph Pictures has acquired North American rights to Sandhya Suri’s Cannes standout “Santosh” following its world premiere in Un Certain Regard. Metrograph Pictures will distribute the film theatrically, with additional release details to be announced at a later date. MK2 Films represents the movie in international markets.

Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Sideshow and Janus films (“Drive My Car”) have acquired all North American rights to Payal Kapadia‘s “All We Imagine as Light,” the first Indian film to screen in official competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 30 years. The movie will world premiere on Thursday, May 23. It’s also one of only four films in the Competition directed by a woman.

EXCLUSIVE:  Watermelon Pictures has acquired North American distribution rights for Palestinian director Mohamed Jabaly’s documentary Life Is Beautiful about his experiences after he became stranded in Norway in 2014 when Gaza’s borders were shut indefinitely.

Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Focus Features has bought international rights to “Hamlet,” Aneil Karia’s London-set modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s famed play starring Oscar winner Riz Ahmed. Morfydd Clark (“Saint Maud,” “Rings of Power”) and Joe Alwyn (“Kinds of Kindness”) also star in the film, which wrapped production at the end of last year and was acquired by Focus Features some time ago. CAA is repping North American rights, while WME Independent handled international sales.

This Mexico-U.S. co-production, shot in an unbroken 87-minute take, follows business tycoon James (Raimi) as he faces a crushing bank debt deadline.
