Rick Rubin has announced his debut book, The Creative Act: A Way Of Being.The acclaimed music producer and Def Jam Records co-founder will publish the title in early 2023, The Guardian reports.The Creative Act… is said to be a non-fiction title focusing on the process of creativity. “I set out to write a book about what to do to make a great work of art,” Rubin explained in a statement.

Tess Roby has announced that she will release her first album for four years, titled ‘Ideas Of Space’, in April. The title track is out now.“‘Ideas of Space’ signals the beginning of a new chapter”, she says of the track.

Omar Apollo has announced his upcoming forth album, ‘Ivory’.The 16-track album is slated to release on April 8 via Warner Records. While the tracklist for ‘Ivory’ has not yet been revealed, it has been confirmed that the record will include previously released singles ‘Go Away’ and ‘Bad Life’ featuring Kali Uchis.The album will also include the newly released ‘Invincible’ featuring fellow singer-songwriter Daniel Caesar, which received a music video.

Metallica‘s Kirk Hammett has announced details of his debut solo EP, ‘Portals’.The guitarist will release the four-song instrumental EP on April 23 via Blackened Recordings across digital platforms, CD and as a Record Store Day Exclusive Ocean Blue Vinyl EP.‘Portals’ was produced by Hammett and includes songs that were co-written with California conductor Edwin Outwater, who also contributed keyboards and led the orchestral players from the LA Philharmonic on ‘Portals’. SCALPING have announced details of their debut album ‘Void’, as well as sharing a futuristic video for lead single ‘Flashforward’.The Bristol band, who were included in the NME 100 in 2021, are set to release the album on April 29 via Houndstooth.“We wrote this whole album without playing a single note of it together,” the band’s Alex Hill explained. “We produced all of the songs using the computer – as a blend of recordings and samples of our live drums, guitars and drum machines into production software – and then translated it all back into a live performance.“Although there are structured songs on the record, there’s no explicit focus on exactly recreating those songs live either. Everything is adapted to work into a set that flows well.

JYP Entertainment‘s new girl group NMIXX have announced details for their forthcoming debut.A cryptic new teaser poster was released yesterday (February 2), featuring silhouettes of the new group’s seven members as a spotlight moves over each of them. The poster also reveals that NMIXX’s debut single would be titled ‘AD MARE’, along with a release date of February 22 at 6pm KST.Notably, NMIXX’s name was first unveiled just last week with an announcement teaser, after its hotly-anticipated line-up was finalised in November last year, comprising of Kyujin, Jiwoo, BAE, Jinni, Sullyoon, Haewon and Lily.NMIXX, previously referred to as JYPn, was first announced last July when the agency shared that it would be releasing a “blind package” for the group, which had featured their upcoming debut single on a limited-edition CD, a photo book, poster, premium membership card and more.The new all-female K-pop act will be the first girl group launched by JYP Entertainment since ITZY’s debut in 2019.
