Porridge Radio have announced details of their third album ‘Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky’ and shared its first single ‘Back To The Radio’.The band have also confirmed their biggest-ever UK headline tour alongside a series of intimate in-store shows around the record’s release.‘Back To The Radio’ was written by frontperson Dana Margolin ahead of the release of the group’s acclaimed 2020 album ‘Every Bad’, a time when she felt like “a lot of things were coming that I wasn’t sure I knew how to handle”.“The song grew out of a feeling of intense loneliness and being unprepared for what everybody was promising me was about to happen – and a strong desire to escape without knowing what I wanted to escape to,” she said in a press release. “To me, there’s a huge feeling of catharsis in this song, of letting go and letting it sweep you away.”The song comes with a video directed by Margolin’s sister Ella and finds the singer waking up in a room where papier-mâché furniture is slowly being removed one by one. Later, she joins the rest of Porridge Radio in a room decorated with landscape scenery as people dressed all in black move her around the space.

Kanye West will not make his upcoming album Donda 2 available on any of the traditional streaming services, a move he claims is "taking control" back from an "oppressive system" that doesn't benefit artists. The album will only be available via Ye's own Stem Player, a $200 device launched in 2021 when he put out Donda. Halestorm have shared new single ‘The Steeple’ from their upcoming fifth album ‘Back From the Dead’, as well as explaining how a gay fan’s struggle with her family inspired one of their other new songs.During a recent conversation with Loudwire Nights, singer Lzzy Hale explained how a conversation with a young fan ended up being developed into one of the band’s new tracks.“There’s a song on the album that was actually inspired by this conversation I was having with a young girl,” Hale explained, saying she spent most of lockdown checking the band’s socials and fan comments.“She’s a teenager, she’s still living with her parents. She came out as gay, and basically told me and everybody online that the parents’ response was, ‘Well, death would be better.’ We were all so angry about that, because how could you say that to your daughter no matter who she wants to kiss? It doesn’t matter.”Hale called the resulting song “an anthem for her” – without specifying which track on the new album the story referenced – and added: “We all have something.
