The latest celebrity to join Strictly Come Dancing 2023 was snuck into the BBC studios in a Traitor's-style cloak to avoid detection ahead of their cast announcement.
Channel 4 newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy was unveiled as the fourth star to join this year’s ballroom show on Claudia Winkleman’s BBC Radio 2 show earlier this morning (August 5).
But to avoid press photographers capturing his involvement prior to the announcement, the broadcaster wore a cloak bearing more than a slight reference to The Traitors, the hit BBC reality show hosted by Strictly co-host Claudia.

Taking to Twitter after he was revealed to be taking part in the show, Krishnan tweeted a photo of him wearing the cloak outside the BBC studios alongside another photo of a caped Yoda from Star Wars.
He tweeted: “The Traitors cloak they made me wear to keep the secret going into the BBC….from two different angles #strictly.”
His followers were quick to shower the newsreader with Star Wars references. One asked: "Will the foxtrot be strong with this one?", whilst another quipped: "Win the Glitterball Trophy you will."
Others even hoped for a Traitors crossover, with one person saying: "You would be a great traitor. Hope they do a celeb series." Another added: "Wait. A Traitors cloak? Feel the clever cross promotion."
Speaking about his decision to take part in the show, Krishnan told Claudia this morning: “"You only live once - I'm here for the joy, for the fun. I love my job, it's very, very privileged, I go to amazing places and talk to amazing people, but it's incredibly serious, it's quite stressful. It can be quite difficult.
