Stirling Albion can make big strides towards securing their League One status on Saturday – but the Binos boss Darren Young knows his side must be ready for a battle against Annan.
They head to Galabank at the weekend knowing a win will take them ten points clear of their fellow new boys in ninth place, with Annan having only eleven matches left following Saturday’s dust-up.
But it’s set to be a stern test against a side whom Stirling have yet to taste success over in their two meetings this season, with their previous trip in September seeing them go down 3-0 courtesy of a Tommy Goss double and a Dominic Docherty strike.
Ex-Bino Docherty was also on the scoresheet in the sides’ last meeting at Forthbank in December, opening the scoring before Dale Carrick responded to claim a point for Stirling.
Annan closed the gap to the Binos following a shock 3-2 away win at promotion contenders Hamilton Accies last weekend and were minutes away from claiming another point at Alloa on Tuesday night before Conor Sammon’s late goal sunk them to a 2-1 loss.
Stirling also went down to the Wasps in their last outing on Saturday, an improved performance for their midweek defeat to Montrose, but a familiar story of not taking chances in front of goal before Taylor Steven’s stunner settled the contest.
Binos manager Young was critical of the manner his side defended the St Johnstone loanee’s strike, but declared himself satisfied with a performance which he believed was worthy of claiming at least a point.
Speaking ahead of the trip south, Young said: “We need to be ready for a fight and a scrap. We have some decisions to make in terms of how we go there, how we perform and play.
“We’ll go down there fully aware of the situation and we know it’s

Jimmy Kimmel is hosting the Oscars this year for the fourth time. Other than Bob Hope (19 times), Billy Crystal (nine) and Johnny Carson (five), no solo host has done it more. (Whoopi did it 4 times as well.) But it is a good bet that among those hosts, no one has seen as many of the nominated films. Kimmel is a self-described movie fan, and as I learned from our conversation he not only spends weeks, months even, prepping his monologue, but he also might be one of the few in the room at the Dolby Theater who actually has seen everything. And I mean everything.

As he described it: “We knew the world would never be the same.” He spent the rest of his life trying to share that insight with the world.
