Stacey Solomon has hit back at trolls on Instagram after receiving negative comments for whisking her family away on an incredible holiday to Jamaica. The Loose Women panellist, 34, surprised 20 of her family members, including sister Jemma, younger brother Matthew and dad David, to a luxury getaway instead of Christmas presents this year. She shared a video of the surprise on Instagram and told her fans: "A special Christmas.
For the first time ever we got to surprise our families for Christmas. Never felt more grateful & lucky. Not in my wildest dreams did I ever think I’d be able to do this.
20 of us, 10 hours later & we have made it to paradise. Merry Christmas Everyone. Lots of love from ALL of us.” While the majority of Stacey's followers praised her kindness and wished her well on her festive getaway, others left negative comments under the post and appeared to accuse her of flashing her wealth.
"I just wonder, when lots of people are struggling financially to even get through Christmas, whether this really needs to be shared. I think people forget that posting everything on social media is optional," one person wrote. A second said: "It gets a bit too much exposing the wealth that other peeps can't dream of .
You can't be a working class hero and a mega spender !" However, many of Stacey's loyal fans jumped to her defence, saying the mum-of-five "works hard" and "deserves" to be able to treat her family. One fan said: "You all work so hard you absolutely deserve it. Enjoy every minute with your family x," while a second said: "This is what happens when people who didn’t have much end up with more than they expected - they share and shower their loved ones with the same joy," with three red heart emojis.
