An SNP MP says she felt shunned by the party hierarchy after she spoke out against a sex pest colleague.
Lisa Cameron had to have counselling after fellow Nationalist MPs accused her of not being a team player and refused to engage with her in Parliament.
Now she faces a challenge to remain the party’s candidate in East Kilbride, in a row that could lead to yet another by-election.
Cameron said her problems got worse after she challenged colleagues over their treatment of a young staffer who was sexually harassed by an SNP MP.
Patrick Grady, the former SNP Westminster chief whip, inappropriately touched the 19-year-old on a party night out.
A Commons sleaze watchdog in June last year found he had made “unwanted sexual advances”, including touching and stroking the neck, hair and back of the teenager at a London pub in 2016.
The probe concluded that he had significantly breached Parliament's sexual misconduct policy and he was handed a two-day suspension from the Commons.
SNP MPs were directed by Ian Blackford, who was Westminster leader, to give their “absolute full support” to Mr Grady at a group meeting held in the wake of the report.
But Cameron argued they should do more to consider his victim.
Cameron, who was a consultant clinical psychologist in the NHS before entering Parliament, said: “I'd always worked with victims so I was saying ‘what about the victim?’.
"But I was treated as if I was saying something outlandish. I was made to feel I was out of step with the party. I felt ostracised.
"After I spoke up in one of the meetings and said ‘shouldn't we be supporting the victim?’ people ignored me for quite some time. They were quite hostile towards me, so it wasn't friendly.
