Big Boys has been renewed for a “bigger and better” second series on Channel 4.Created and written by comedian Jack Rooke, the first series of the show followed a young adult named Jack (Derry Girl‘s Dylan Llewellyn) as he set off to uni after the death of his father, explored his sexuality and formed a strong bond with roommate Danny (Jon Pointing).The first series received widespread critical acclaim, with The Guardian describing it as a “warm and witty sitcom” that “tackles coming out and coming of age”.Speaking of the show’s renewal, Rooke said: “The response to Big Boys series one has been so phenomenally kind, heartwarming and beyond anything any of us could have hoped for.“The fact we got onto Gogglebox is probably the proudest moment of mine and my mums lives (she got over 100 likes on Facebook for it!).“And so after a huge spitroast at Harvester, I decided I probably do have some more embarrassing stories about me & my mates to mine for comic material so get ready for an even more cringe second year at Brent University.”Charlie Perkins, Head of Comedy at Channel 4, said: “I’m so happy to confirm that Big Boys is returning.“This is one of my first commissions as Head of Comedy at Channel 4 and it fits squarely into what I think makes the greatest comedy; so much heart blended with so much silliness.
Sneaky seagull ‘pushing his luck’ caught on CCTV shoplifting for the second time

A sneaky seagull has been caught on camera stealing a croissant from a convenience shop. The CCTV footage from Late Stop 24 shop shows the mischievous gull walking purposefully into the store before snatching the pastry packet and making a run for it through the shop’s front door.
The newsagent was something of a target for local seagulls last week with the incident being the second gull-related theft to have happened at the shop last Wednesday. Following two thefts within the space of 24 hours, the shop owners appealed for information, saying that the shifty bird is “pushing his luck”.
Along with the CCTV footage, the Bangor shop posted: “Do you recognise this thief? Caught on camera twice [on Wednesday] stealing from the premises, he’s pushing his luck... Somebody out there must recognise him... We have already been given the name Steven, but could be just a relation. Any info appreciated.”
Bangor is not the only place in North Wales that has experienced issues with unruly seagulls of late. Last week, a resident from Llanfairpwll said that village residents are “living in fear” following a spate of seagull “attacks” over the summer.
Mr Gareth Parry was dissatisfied with the Council’s response to the issue and told North Wales Live: “If I could, I’d send my council tax to the seagulls because they own this village now.”
