Allison Mack has been sentenced to jail for her role in manipulating women into becoming sex slaves for the NXIVM group.
The actress who is best known for her appearance in the Smallville TV series spoke of being hugely remorseful for her actions and pleaded guilty to the charges.
Her co-operation with prosecutors in the case resulted in her receiving a lighter sentence. Typically the crime carries a jail term of between 14 and 17 years but she will instead serve three years.
