Sir Alex Ferguson has arrived at Manchester Crown Court to give evidence in the trial of former United star Ryan Giggs. He was pictured by press photographers at Crown Square this afternoon.
It comes after the jury heard Mr Giggs' girlfriend penned a letter titled 'the final goodbye' branding him a 'compulsive liar' and a 'serial cheat'. The letter was read on the 10th day of the former Manchester United star's trial.
He denies headbutting Kate Greville and elbowing her sister Emma during an incident at his home in Worsley on November 1, 2020. Mr Giggs also denies behaving in a controlling or coercive manner towards his ex between August 2017 and November 2020.
Jurors earlier heard hundreds of messages which the couple exchanged during their relationship. In one around New Year's Eve in 2017, Mr Giggs spelt out letters of her name and said G was for 'gorgeous', R was for 'radiant', E was 'extraordinary', V was for 'vivacious', I was for 'idolised by me', two Ls were for 'legs' and E was for 'everything I ever wanted'.

In another earlier message Mr Giggs said Ms Greville was the 'jam in my doughnut' and the 'salt in my tequila'. Jurors heard that in October 2019 Ms Greville told a friend she had a 'plan to leave (Mr Giggs) next week when he is in camp.
She told her friend she'd written a letter titled 'the final goodbye', and sent it to her. Mr Giggs is alleged to have assaulted Ms Greville days later, after she accused him of infidelity.
In the letter Ms Greville, who accused Mr Giggs of him being unfaithful with eight women, wrote: "I know pretty much everything you have been doing with other women behind my back since the day I met you. My gut always told
