Footballer Ryan Giggs has admitted he threatened his ex-girlfriend as he said “you’re finished”, the court was told.The former Manchester United player is accused of controlling and coercive behaviour towards Kate Greville during their six-year relationship – all of which he denies. At Manchester Crown Court on Wednesday 17 August, Giggs was questioned on messages sent between the couple during their relationship, which lasted for around six years from 2015 onwards. In one message said to be from Ryan to Kate Greville, the footballer wrote that his girlfriend was “finished” and in another he asked: “Do I have to let you go Kate?” Peter Wright QC read out a message from Giggs in January 2019 in which he said: “What the f*, blocking me?? “F**** unblock me now.” He asked Giggs: “Was that the angry Ryan in that message?” to which he replied: “Yes.” Mr Wright went on: “The demanding Ryan?” to which he replied “Yes," again.
