In recent weeks Faith Dingle has struggled to come to terms with the news that her breast cancer has returned, as she refuses to tell Chas or Cain about her diagnosis. Instead, she has confided in Moira Barton who has urged her mother-in-law to be honest with her children. Chas has become suspicious of Moira’s apparently secretive behaviour, suspecting that her sister-in-law has resumed her affair with Nate.
In Tuesday’s episode (May 31) the Woolpack bar manager finds Moira half undressed with Faith in the room, who was recovering from a chemotherapy session. Faith creates an excuse for her whereabouts and composes a lie about Moira experiencing early-onset menopause and needing someone to comfort her. With little choice, Moira reluctantly agrees to the story.
Later, Faith urges Chas and Paddy to keep quiet about Moira’s menopause after walking in on them discussing the encounter. What do you think? Let us know in the comments Chas scoffed at the suggestion Faith would “lie” in these circumstances, which stifled a worrying cough. Sally Dexter, who plays Faith, has hinted that it is unlikely her character will open up to her children about the diagnosis.
She said: "At the moment, I think Faith is very relieved that people don't know the truth, because she thinks it will change how they are with her. "Faith wants to live her life for as long and vibrantly as she can, but she's lonely. There's a comfort in keeping yourself to yourself, but there's a loneliness to it as well." While Faith is unlikely to reconsider her decision to hide the truth, should Moira come clean to Chas and Cain about her cancer return? Share your thoughts in the comments below. OK! will be discussing the topic with you below in the comments and you
