Police are appealing for help from the public to find a woman who vanished in Edinburgh two days ago. Averil Shepley was last seen in the Marchmont area of the capital at around 10.30pm on Friday, September 30.
The 47-year-old has failed to make contact since and has been reported as missing to Police Scotland. Officers say Averil was last seen wearing a black woolly hat with toggles on each side and black trousers.
She may also have a bright pink Gortex jacket on and could be carrying a black and red rucksack.
The missing woman is described as being white, of a slight build, between 5ft 6in and 5ft 8in tall with short dark brown hair that has white streaks throughout.
A statement from Police Scotland said: “We are appealing for the public’s help as part of our efforts to trace a woman reported missing in Edinburgh. 47-year-old Averil Shepley was last seen in the Marchmont area around 10.30pm on Friday, 30 September, 2022.
“Averil is described as white, of slight build, between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 8ins. She has short dark brown hair with white streaks throughout and blue eyes.
“Averil was last seen wearing a black woolly hat with toggles on each side and black trousers. She may be wearing a bright pink Goretex jacket and be in possession of a black and red rucksack.”
Anyone with information is being asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 and to quote the incident number 0090 of October 1, 2022.
