Cops have launched an urgent search to trace a 15-year-old Scots girl who vanished in Motherwell.
Officers say Melanie Dougal was reported missing at around 1pm on Friday, September 23. It is believed that she was last seen in the Knowenoble Street area of Motherwell. Melanie is described as white, 5ft 5ins tall, with dirty blonde hair, likely in a pigtail.
When Melanie was last seen she was said to be wearing a white/light jumper and black trousers.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
Constable Sean Reilly, of Motherwell Police Station, said this is 'completely out of character' and they are concerned for her welfare.
He commented: “This is out of character for Melanie and we are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.
“I would urge anyone who has seen Melanie or knows where she is to get in touch.
“Likewise, if Melanie sees or hears about this appeal please call us or your family so we know you are safe and well.”
Anyone with information which could assist is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 1822 of 23 September, 2022.
