A woman who left her partner scarred for life after stabbing him several times has been allowed to walk free from the High Court in Dundee.
Cheyenne Cummings jumped on Mark McLuckie's back before smashing him on the head with an ashtray and stabbing him repeatedly with shards of glass. The 27-year-old was high on a cocktail of drink and drugs when she carried out the attack which left Mr McLuckie permanently disfigured.
The High Court in Dundee was told that Cummings already had a prior conviction for a domestic attack on a previous boyfriend. Mr McKenzie sustained cuts to his neck, his back and shoulder, behind his ear, and to his feet, and he needed a number of stitches in hospital.
But Cummings was given a community payback order and placed under supervision for two years, as well as being ordered to carry out 300 hours unpaid work. Cummings, from Bonnybridge, admitted attacking her partner to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement in Anderson Park Road, Denny, on 21 November 2020.
She also admitted breaching a bail order by approaching him in December 2020.
Counsel Drew McKenzie, defending, said: "She recalls very little. That has always been her position. She takes responsibility for her actions.
"The taking of drugs and alcohol on the night has impacted both her life and the complainer's. The incident would have been unpleasant and frightening for the complainer.
"She was out of order and appears regretful about it. The assault took place against a background of the accused taking a cocktail of alcohol, cannabis, cocaine and a substantial number of Valium tablets.
"The accused felt particularly anxious as 20 November was the anniversary of her mother's death. She has lost other close family members.
