Emergency services have been tackling a "major" blaze at a building believed to be a former Scots care home throughout the night.
Fire crews were called to the former Frank Downie House in Clydebank on Saturday night at around 9.30pm after being alerted to a fire in a derelict building on Ottawa Crescent. Scottish Fire and Rescue services were still trying to get the fire under control on Sunday morning.
Six appliances were sent to the scene as nearby residents were evacuated to Clydemuir Primary School as a precaution. People in the area have been urged to keep their windows closed.
There are not believed to be any casualties.
Drone footage of the blaze, posted on social media, shows the extent of the fire, with smoke billowing into the air. Flashing blue lights from emergency vehicles can also be seen.
A number of roads in the area have been closed as fire fighters try to get the inferno under control.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 9.36pm on Saturday, 6 August to reports of a fire affecting a derelict building in Ottawa Crescent, Clydebank.
“Operations Control mobilised six appliances to the scene, where crews remain in attendance as they work to extinguish the fire.
“There are no reported casualties at this time.”
A Police Scotland statement said: "The emergency services are dealing with a major fire at a property in Ottawa Crescent, Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire.
"A number of roads in the area have been closed and residents close to the fire have been evacuated as a precaution. The public should avoid the area.
"Clydemuir Primary School has been opened for any residents who have been evacuated. Those who have not been evacuated are advised to keep their windows closed.
