A Scots DJ has admitted raping a woman in a disturbing confessional video after finding God.
Craig Strachan, 30, made the admission during an online interview in which he talks of a “spiritual awakening” but says he has now “forgiven himself” for the attack.
But the vile confession – where he smiles and laughs – has provoked calls from MSPs for Strachan to face justice.
And Police Scotland has now confirmed it is investigating his alleged attack.
Strachan, who has DJ’d around the world and also acts as a life coach, admits his crime in a video interview on the “I’mPossible” motivational YouTube channel.
A former friend who spoke to the Record said: “In the video he speaks words of remorse but he also laughs all the way through, which is unsettling.
“He talks about the confession as though it’s his way of forgiving himself and therefore drawing a line under it.
“But the reality is that he is not only setting himself up as a DJ, a huge influencer of young people, but also as a life coach.
“If he is admitting to raping someone, it is not something that you can just draw a line under and there’s certainly questions about whether or not he should be acting as a role model – even if he says he is full of regret and contrition.”
Strachan claims the rape, for which he was never charged, happened in Edinburgh 10 years ago when he was 21.
Talking about the attack itself and his decision to speak about it, Strachan said: “When I had my spiritual awakening last year it was so so scary because I was reminded of something that happened when I was 21, when I was really high and totally f***** up I raped a girl. I had sex with her when she was sleeping. It lasted about 10 seconds.
“She was in my bed and as soon as it happened I instantly
