Good sleep is priceless but falling - and staying - asleep can be an impossible task.
It can be hard to drift off when the duvet becomes a power struggle between you and your partner. If sleep is escaping you, there's one sleep habit that has proved popular outside of the UK.
You may have noticed bedding in Scandinavian countries and others around the world look entirely different from the UK. That's because sleeping with separate duvets is a common practice elsewhere.
Reading, meditating and exercise are all commonly touted as solutions, but the Scandinavian method has yet to take off here. Dorothy Chambers, sleep expert at Sleep Junkie, has explained the Scandinavian sleep method that could help you drift asleep.
As reported by The Mirror, Dorothy explained: "The Scandinavian sleep method is where a couple uses two separate duvets or blankets, rather than one large one to share. It has its pros and cons and is definitely something that might not suit everyone's personal sleeping preferences."
Getting enough duvet can definitely affect your sleep quality, which is why the two duvet method is so handy. For example, if you love to wrap yourself in a personal burrito, no one is missing out.
On the downside, if you prefer to cuddle at night, this method would likely make things difficult as you have two duvets to contend with, rather than just one.
"Additionally, if you and the person you're sharing a bed with run at different temperatures, separate duvets allow you to choose the type of duvet or blanket that suits you", the expert shared.
The little-known trick might be your saviour when it comes to resetting your body clock for those gloomy January evenings.
