Dave Davies hits back after The Kinks’ Hall Of Fame trophy appears on eBay: “This auction makes me very sad”

The Kinks has hit back after spotting his Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame trophy being put up for auction on eBay.The original four members of The Kinks – Dave, his brother Ray, bassist Pete Quaife and drummer Mick Avory – were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1990, reuniting for the first time in many years. However, guitarist Dave noticed the award was up for auction for USD$12,500 (£9,860) and took to X/Twitter to share his feelings on seeing the listing, saying the award had been listed “without my consent”.“I lost track of my award years ago and didn’t know where it was,” he wrote. “If the person bought it at a storage unit it may have been [around] the time of my 2004 stroke when I was incapacitated in [the] UK”.Davies suffered a stroke in 2004 on June 30, staying in hospital for two months; the stroke forced him to relearn the guitar afterwards.

As festival season kicks off, the UK could be in for the wettest summer in 100 years

revealed by LBC from the Met Office to the government, it has estimated that there is a possibility for there to be roughly 50 “wet days” over the next three months. In the summer of 2023, there were 40 days of rain. 1912 holds the record for the most rainy days with 55 checked off.According to Timeout UK, a “wet day” has been described as a “one where 2.5mm of rain falls.” The Met Office also shared that the long-range forecast explained: “The chances of a wetter-than-average period are higher than a drier-than-average one.”They added: “Rainfall at this time of year has a greater risk of localised heavy downpours and thunderstorms,” meaning that the rainfall will often be concentrated within a smaller area.According to Met office data, the UK has had a very wet year so far with the month of February being its wettest since 1836 and Winter 2023/24 was the UK’s eighth wettest on record.Though the summer in the UK is allegedly en route to be the wettest summer in 100 years, the Met Office did confirm that reports of a drenched summer are just estimations.“It’s not possible to forecast a specific number of days of rain in the UK for a whole season,” the forecasters explained to The i .

‘Young Woman and the Sea’: Daisy Ridley Trained for Months to Play Female Swimming Champion and Shot Scenes Until Her Lips Turned Blue

Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor SPOILER ALERT: This story discusses major plot points, including the ending for “Young Woman and the Sea,” currently playing in theaters. While Joachim Rønning read the script for “Young Woman and the Sea,” he made little notes as he went along. When he reached the end, his first thought was, “This is amazing.” His next thought was: How could he possibly capture what he had just read on screen? “Young Woman and the Sea” tells the story of Trudy Ederle, played by Daisy Ridley, who in 1926 became the first woman to swim across the English Channel. But a case of measles – which nearly killed her and left her with severe hearing loss, stood in her way, along with sexism.
