Millions of Samsung Galaxy users have been urged to check their phones for an important update getting released this month.
Samsung's security patch for May 2023 will cover 70 flaws including six with a 'critical' rating - the most serious classification. Four critical bugs affect all phones powered by Android, Google's operating system, while the remaining two are specific to Samsung phones.
The new patch is understood to be getting a slow rollout across the world, but it's worth checking your Galaxy phone regularly to make sure it's fully updated with the latest software.
Some of the flaws could give hackers the opportunity to run commands on device without the owner's permission, hence the critical rating, the Mirror reports.
"At Samsung, we take security and privacy issues very seriously and we are doing our best to respond as quickly as possible. Securing your device and maintaining the trust you place in us is our top priority," wrote Samsung on its security pages.
Once that's done you should find your phone is then fully protected from any new threats.
All of Samsung's latest and greatest devices such as the Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Flip3 and Galaxy S22 models get monthly security updates but some older devices like the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy A22 are only offered quarterly upgrades.
You can find the full list here to see what patches you'll get throughout the year.
