Come 25 April and Hollywood will reunite once more for the Oscars ceremony. And one name which is bound to stand out during the awards show is the late Chadwick Boseman.

Internationally renowned actress Viola Davis has opened up about Hollywood’s treatment of people of colour, particularly Black artists in a recent interview with Variety. The star has expressed her thoughts about inclusivity in the film industry countless times in the past.

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, shared her thoughts on inclusivity and casting in a new interview with Variety.“It’s so hard to get films made that don’t fit a certain box of how they see us,” Davis said on the publication’s Awards Circuit Podcast.“Inclusivity cannot be a hashtag.

The biggest implication from the SAG Awards, though, may be Viola Davis' lead actress win.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards 2021 were held on Sunday, April 4. Amid the pandemic, the awards ceremony was pre-recorded and aired simultaneously on TNT and TBS Sunday night.

SAG Awards are the first of the major peer groups to hand out statues in the new year, but 2021 is proving to be even more change-inducing than 2020.The 27th Annual SAG Awards were pushed a couple of times, first due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and then when the Grammys decided to have their show on the same night SAG was planning to celebrate.
