Three men have been jailed after holding vulnerable victims hostage to 'sadistically' extort money.
A court heard that over a period of four days, the men held the victims captive in a Birmingham flat. They were repeatedly beaten, tortured, struck with weapons and humiliated.

But they managed to escape and ran straight to a police station.
Following a trial Zaman, aged 37, of Wilmore Road, Perry Barr, was found guilty of two counts of false imprisonment, causing a person to engage in sexual activity and 11 offences of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. At Birmingham Crown Court on January 18 he was sentenced to life with a minimum of 12 years.
Storey, 41, also of Wilmore Road, Perry Barr was found guilty of two counts of false imprisonment, causing a person to engage in sexual activity and four offences of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, while he admitted seven further assault counts. He was jailed for 15 years.
