Former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas looked to fans for reassurance after accidentally giving his kids mouldy cheese. The actor said he sprinkled parmesan over their pasta before fearing the worst after finding the tell-tale green spots.
Ryan, who played Jason Grimshaw in the ITV soap for 16 years between 2000 and 2016, shares son Roman, three, and one-year-old daughter Lilah Rae with former TOWIE star Lucy. They fell in love while taking part in Bear Grylls Celebrity Island.
Ryan, who is currently solo parenting while Lucy is away, shared his food fears with followers on Instagram. He showed a spoonful of the cheese - with mould growth clearly visible - as he held it over a sink.

The star said: "I found an open packet of parmesan in the fridge and I sprinkled it all over the kids' dinner and then I've opened the packet to put the rest in with the rest of the pasta that's left over and I've found this.
"Are my kids going to be okay? Please tell me my kids are going to be okay. I mean I've eaten some but I'm not bothered about me. I just need to know while mum's away, are these kids going to be ill?"
At the time of writing, it seemed followers were on track to put Ryan's mind at rest. After he posted a poll asking if the kids would be ok, 72% of those who responded had said yes, with 28% holding the opposite view.
Even so, it seems Ryan hasn't had the best of days while looking after the kids on his own. He later shared a jokey video showing him looking a little stressed while the kids noisily splashed about in the bath - adding an exploding head emoji for good measure.
