(or is he in character as Ken… we simply cannot tell) frets about whether “I'm Just Ken (Merry Kristmas Barbie)” will feel fresh.

“The Christmas is making it fresh,” Ronson reassures him, candy cane in hand.Ryan eventually readies himself to sing by “getting into character” with a pair of sunglasses “because the world can have Ken's voice but only Barbie can have his eyes.”And then, they launch into “I'm Just Ken (Merry Kristmas Barbie)”—which is essentially a rendition of the original song with an underscore of festive orchestrations and jingle bells… and the added bonus of a surprisingly soulful performance from Gosling.
