Samantha Markle, 57, claimed that Meghan has spread a “false narrative” about her upbringing, and that the book Finding Freedom – written by friend to the Duchess, Omid Scobie – was a “book of lies” and a “fairy-tale life story”. Samantha has long been outspoken on the difficult relationship between Meghan and her father Thomas’ side of the family.
Last year, she published her own book entitled The Diary Of Princess Pushy’s Sister: A Memoir, Part One. In her latest lawsuit, Samantha specifically refers to the “tell-all” interview that Harry and Meghan did with Oprah Winfrey last year. She alleges that Meghan made “false and malicious” statements, accusing her of “falsely claiming she essentially raised herself from virtual poverty”.
Responding to Meghan’s previous statements that she barely had a relationship with her sister or father, the lawsuit claims, “This is false. Samantha spent time with Defendant on a regular basis throughout her childhood and even lived in the same apartment house with Defendant for a period of time. Samantha picked up Meghan from school; took Meghan for ice cream and to the mall regularly, and spent many family holidays with the Defendant.
