Peter Morgan (The Crown) was among the top winners at this year’s Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards with his latest production, Patriots, which took home the coveted Michael Billington Award for Best New Play.

Actor Murray Melvin, whose extensive work in film and on stage was highly respected by his peers, has died from complications from a fall suffered in December. He was 90 and died on April 14, according to Kerry Kyriacos Michael MBE, creative director at Theatro Technis.

Prince Harry returned to London last week as he joined other high-profile celebrities in a court case against Associated Newspapers Ltd (ANL). While the Duke of Sussex was in town for the hearing — in which he and other public figures accused the media company of hacking -- he did not see his father, King Charles III.However, a source tells ET that despite the rift between the monarch and his son, there was no slight as Charles was not in town the same time as Harry. «They were unable to meet due to the king’s busy schedule surrounding his first overseas Royal Tour,» the source tells ET. The source adds that Charles was not in Windsor or London during his son's visit as he was «busy preparing for his first overseas trip as king to Germany.»Harry, 38, who made a surprise visit to London to participate in the hearing, knew that he father was not expected to be in London that entire week because of «prior commitments.» The source says there was «no slight intended» as Charles' calendars are prepared long in advance. The Duke of Sussex also did not see his brother, Prince William, as he and his family were away ahead of the Easter holiday. Royal watchers were surprised to see Harry, who lives in California with his wife, Meghan Markle and their children, Arichie and Lilibet -- back in London, as the last time he was there was for his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II's, funeral. It has not been confirmed if Harry, Meghan and their children will make their return to London for the king's coronation on May 6.

Naman Ramachandran The Royal Shakespeare Company’s theater adaptation of Studio Ghibli’s “My Neighbor Totoro” swept the Olivier Awards on Sunday, taking home six out of the nine categories it was nominated in, including the Sir Peter Hall Award for best director, awarded to Phelim McDermott and the Noël Coward Award for best entertainment or comedy play. The Almeida Theatre also had a successful night, with three of its productions taking home awards. Will Keen won best supporting actor for his performance in “Patriots” and “Tammy Faye” garnered two acting awards – Katie Brayben for best actress in a musical and Zubin Varla for best actor in a supporting role in a musical. Rebecca Frecknall’s revival of Tennessee Williams’ “A Streetcar Named Desire” won best actor for Paul Mescal’s portrayal of Stanley Kowalski and best actress in a supporting role for Anjana Vasan’s performance as Stella. The play also won the best revival award.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are “unpredictable” and “nobody expected” Harry to travel to the Royal Courts of Justice this week, commentator Richard Fitzwilliams added.The 38 year old royal has flown to London on a solo visit for the hearing of his privacy case against Daily Mail publisher Associated Newspapers Ltd (ANL) over allegations of unlawful information gathering.
