Olivier Awards host Hannah Waddingham told off a photographer who appeared to ask her to “show your leg” on the red carpet on Sunday (April 14).

Hannah Waddingham slammed a photographer during London’s prestigious Olivier Awards on Sunday, who reportedly told the “Ted Lasso” star to “show me leg.”“Oh my God, you’d never say that to a man,” Waddingham, 49, replied on the red carpet in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) as she stood outside Royal Albert Hall. “Don’t be a d–k otherwise I’ll move off. Don’t say ‘show me leg.’ No,” she continued.

In the play, six young Black men meet for group therapy, and let their hearts and imaginations run wild. Starring in the roles of Onyx, Pitch, Jet, Sable, Obsidian and Midnight are Tobi King Bakare (“I May Destroy You”), Shakeel Haakim making his professional debut, Fela Lufadeju (“Santiago”), Albert Magashi (“Dear England”), Mohammed Mansaray (“Gassed Up”) and Posi Morakinyo (“Mandela”) respectively.

Naman Ramachandran “My Neighbor Totoro,” a stage adaptation of Miyazaki Hayao‘s beloved 1988 Studio Ghibli film, is set to return to London’s Barbican Theatre this fall. The production is a collaboration between multi-award-winning composer Joe Hisaishi, who executive produces, the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), Improbable and Nippon TV. The production, adapted by Tom Morton-Smith (“Oppenheimer”) opened at the Barbican in October last year and broke the venue’s box office record for most tickets sold in a single day.

Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Christopher Hampton, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of “The Father” and “The Dangerous Liaisons,” is set to adapt Walter Isaacson’s acclaimed biography “Leonardo Da Vinci” for Universal Pictures. Universal Pictures had fiercely chased rights to the hot literary property six years ago, and was outbid by Paramount, which developed the project with Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way. Now that Universal has finally secured those rights, it has tapped Hampton to pen the adaptation, which seems to be the perfect material for the Oscar winning writer whose movies typically lure A-list talent.

The pair will star as The Emcee and Sally Bowles in a new and immersive production of “Cabaret.” The show, dubbed “Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club,” was a sensation when it debuted in London with Redmayne and Jessie Buckley. A Broadway transfer has been buzzed about almost as soon as the the production across the pond was first unveiled.

British actress Jodie Comer has earned her first Tony Award nomination for Broadway debut Prima Facie.The Killing Eve star, 30, is nominated for best performance by an actress in a leading role in a play for her role as Tessa in the one-person production by playwright Suzie Miller.The production, about a British defence lawyer who ends up in the witness box, secured four Tony Award nominations in total, including for best scenic design, best lighting design and best sound in a play. After receiving critical acclaim for her West End debut at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London, which included winning best actress at the 2023 Olivier Awards, Comer took the play to the John Golden Theatre on Broadway in April which will run until July.

At the annual theatre awards ceremony on Sunday, Paul, 27, won the Best Actor prize for his leading role as Stanley Kowlaski in the West End revival of A Streetcar Named Desire. During his acceptance speech, the Normal People star thanked his colleagues and co-stars before giving a shout-out to both his parents.

The actors looked in their element as they posed with each other at the Olivier Awards on Sunday night after both winning two of the ceremony’s major awards. Will Keen won best supporting actor for his performance in “Patriots” and “Tammy Faye” garnered two acting awards – Katie Brayben for best actress in a musical and Zubin Varla for best actor in a supporting role in a musical. Rebecca Frecknall’s revival of Tennessee Williams’ “A Streetcar Named Desire” won best actor for Paul Mescal’s portrayal of Stanley Kowalski and best actress in a supporting role for Anjana Vasan’s performance as Stella. The play also won the best revival award.

The global stage premiere of Hayao Miyazaki’s celebrated 1988 animated feature film, adapted by Tom Morton-Smith (“Oppenheimer”), was announced in April 2022 and broke the Barbican’s box office record for most tickets sold in a single day. The production opened at the Barbican in October 2022 and was nominated for nine Olivier Awards, the most nominations for any production this year.
