Arsenal have work to do to be considered among the favourites for the Premier League title this season, believes former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane.
The Gunners came close to ending their near two decade top flight drought last term, before falling short over the closing weeks of the campaign as Man City stormed to the title. Mikel Arteta's side have spent big in an attempt to go one better this time around having recruited Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber over the summer.
But with City starting the season with four straight wins and Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham all seeking improvements on last year and Newcastle United, Brighton and Aston Villa also in the top six conversation, the Gunners face a battle to be among the frontrunners. And Keane, for one, cannot see Arsenal replicating their title challenge of last season.

"No, not really," said Keane speaking on Sky Sports ahead of Arsenal's game with United. "Obviously they have strengthened their squad and they were brilliant last season, but towards the end they ran out of steam physically, and mentally.
"The rest of the teams in the league are playing catch up, and that is the challenge for Arsenal this year and to see if anyone can catch Manchester City. There are still huge question marks over them.
"You are talking about tactics, what was it 47 different formations? I didn’t even know there were that many formations you could play in football, but there you go. I still think they are short this year."
"Sometimes you need to simplify football because they have a lot of good players, they had a lot of good momentum last year but they did come up short."
