Fox News Channel announced today that it is canceling The Next Revolution with Steve Hilton, though the network indicated the host would stay on as a contributor. The move is part of a reshuffle of the channel’s weekend primetime lineup, the new version of which is set to debut on Saturday.

In the aftermath of the departure of weekend opinion host Dan Bongino, Fox News intends to add a new panel show to its Saturday-night grid, while ending Steve Hilton’s Sunday-night program, “The Next Revolution.” Hilton will take a contributor role. Bongino and Fox News parted ways in April after failing to come to terms on a new contract. “We are excited to launch a new dynamic weekend line-up that will further solidify our position as the number one cable news network for more than two decades,” said Megan Albano, the Fox News senior vice president who oversees weekend programming and the weekday panel show “The Five,” in a statement. “We thank Steve Hilton for his show’s contributions and look forward to continuing to feature his valuable insights across our daytime and primetime programming.”

McKinley Franklin editor Cineverse and Sid & Marty Krofft Pictures are teaming up to launch the Sid & Marty Krofft Channel, Variety can exclusively reveal. Cineverse, formerly Cinedigm, will manage and operate the channel that will home selections of live-action Krofft shows. Episodes from iconic children’s and fantasy series will stream on the channel, including “H.R. Pufnstuf,” “The Bugaloos,” “Lidsville,” “Sigmund and the Sea Monsters,” “Land of the Lost,” “The Lost Saucer” and “Far Out Space Nuts.”  The deal comes as Cineverse lands rights to distribute Krofft shows across multiple digital platforms as part of a new overall deal. Cineverse will remasterthe library, making it the first time the Krofft shows will be available on digital platforms.

Channel 4 has picked up a wealth of U.S. content for its rebranded streaming service including Dr. Death, Queer As Folk and Becoming Elizabeth.

But after a run of eight series, having first aired in 2015, Channel 4 have confirmed they will be axing the civilian version of the military training show.

The program is part of Audible’s expanding news and non-fiction slate. Hosted by journalists Jared Marcelle, Rheya Spigner, and Noah Jones, “Brutally Informed” aims at delivering insights on issues spanning current affairs, culture, and societal issues with topics ranging from polyamory to the Colorado River to counterfeit sneakers. Each 15-minute episode boasts original interviews and investigative reporting. The audio show is produced by Alex Schuman, with Paradiso Media’s Yael Even Or serving as supervising producer. Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker says the show was “effectively cancelled” by its original home of Channel 4.Brooker’s hit show started in 2011 on Channel 4, staying on the network until 2014 before moving to Netflix two years later.Ahead of the show returning with a sixth season, the creator has discussed the move, saying that Channel 4 considered the show too expensive to produce.“Channel 4 cancelled us, effectively,” Brooker told The Sunday Times in a new interview of the breakup between the show and network.As The Independent report, Brooker has previously spoken about the situation in his book Inside Black Mirror, written alongside the show’s co-producer Annabel Jones.He goes into further detail about the Channel 4 fall-out in Inside Black Mirror, the book he wrote with executive co-producer Annabel Jones.In the book, he revealed what he called an “outrageous” decision for the network to ask to see “detailed synopses” of each episode in advance, adding: “When feedback came, we were told they weren’t very Black Mirror and they were no longer going to allocate the money for four episodes.”Jones said: “We were trying to get a meeting to discuss why these ideas weren’t Black Mirror, so we could attempt to understand what the concern was.“Given the show had won lots of awards and had been really positively received on the whole, it was strange. I think there wasn’t any clarity from the channel.

Directed by Umesh Bist (Sikhya-Balaji Motion Pictures-Netflix film “Pagglait”) and co-written by Puja Banerji and Sunjoy Shekhar, the series, described as being in the investigative fantasy drama genre, is set across three decades and timelines – 1990, 2001 and 2016 – and blends mysticism, science and mystery. The series will be produced by Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain for Sikhya and Johar and Apoorva Mehta for Dharmatic.
