Voters across Rochdale have gone to the ballot box to elect their new MP following the death of Sir Tony Lloyd.
A by-election was called for the constituency after Sir Tony, who was also a former Police and Crime Commissioner for Greater Manchester, died last month at the age of 73. The Labour MP had developed 'aggressive and untreatable leukaemia'.
The Parliamentary consistency covers the areas of Balderstone, Kirkholt, central Rochdale, Healey, Kingsway, Littleborough, Milkstone and Deeplish, Milnrow, Newhey, Smallbridge, Firgrove, Spotland, Falinge and Wardle.

Eleven candidates were on the ballot paper on Thursday, including the town's former MP Simon Danczuk who was standing for Reform UK, and George Galloway, who represented the Workers Party of Britain.
Before the election Labour had withdrawn support for its candidate and Lancashire county councillor Azhar Ali after 'deeply offensive' comments he made about Israel. The Green Party's Guy Otten also withdraw from the race.
