Ricky Gervais has described a cover of John Lennon’s Imagine by a host of A-list celebrities as “awful”.
Last week actress Gal Gadot shared a video of her and other celebrities including Natalie Portman and Will Ferrell singing along to the song after saying that the lockdown had left her feeling “philosophical”.
Comedian Gervais criticised their rendition of the song in an interview with Nihal Arthanayake on BBC Radio 5 Live.
He said: “It’s not that bad – they’re probably all very nice people.
We all need a bit of a laugh, especially now, and Ricky Gervais is delivering the goods.

Ricky Gervais has slammed rich celebrities who go on social media to lecture the public while the NHS work tirelessly to save lives amid the coronavirus pandemic. In an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live, the 58 year old, who is worth an estimated £110 million himself, launched into an epic rant, explaining that while other celebrities, who he did not name, might be moaning about isolation, no one will hear him complain.
Ricky Gervais isn’t holding back his thoughts on celebrities lecturing normal people on the importance of self-quarantine.
"But they might have been doing it for good reasons."
